Nairobi Social and Political Walk

Parliament of Kenya – Parliament Road
Organized by Planetwonk

This interactive storytelling walk is meant to have the flow and information-heavy experience of a documentary.

Welcome to the wild world of Kenyan politics, where politicians are as unpredictable as the weather and the drama never ends. From the iconic orange shirts of the ODM to the infamous wheelbarrows of the UDA, political parties in Kenya are known for their catchy slogans and creative campaign strategies. But behind the catchy tunes and flashy billboards lies a complex web of tribal allegiances, corruption scandals, and power struggles that keep the nation on edge.

This interactive storytelling walk is meant to have the flow and information-heavy experience of a documentary. It takes us into a comprehensive analysis, providing surprising answers.

It highlights the social and political elements of the country, from the creation of the modern state to current times. We’ll address both historical and current events from a balanced & non-biased point of view to help you determine your views of this land for yourself.

The experience is aimed at people with a genuine interest in politics and those keen to learn more about the situation in the country by conducting some first-hand research.

“Jogoo Wa Shamba Wawika Mjini” hit different. It nailed the shags-meets-city vibe installations that make you think about where you’re from vs where you are. Layers, textures, and real cultural depth. Worth the visit if you appreciate art that speaks to the Kenyan experience. Highly recommend! 🎨
