DataFest Africa 2025 – Nairobi Satellite Edition

Date: Wednesday, 15th October 2025
Venue: Aga Khan University – Nairobi

The DataFest Africa 2025 – Nairobi Satellite Edition is part of Africa’s largest celebration of data, technology, and innovation. Co-hosted by Aga Khan University – Kenya and Pollicy Data Institute (Uganda), this year’s festival carries the powerful theme: “Reclaiming Our Data Futures.”

DataFest Africa 2025 will run as a two-city edition bringing together diverse voices from across the continent in both Nairobi and Kampala to reimagine how data can work for communities, not just institutions.

In Nairobi, we will gather innovators, policymakers, creatives, academics, entrepreneurs, and grassroots changemakers to:

  • Share bold ideas and practical solutions for ethical and inclusive data use.

  • Explore AI, cloud, and emerging technologies that drive social impact.

  • Discuss digital safety, economic empowerment, and equitable data governance.

  • Showcase homegrown innovations in our exhibition space and Creatives Corner.

Expect a dynamic program of keynotes, panels, exhibitions, and live demos, alongside interactive spaces where technology meets art, storytelling, and community building.

Whether you are a researcher, technologist, policymaker, startup founder, activist, or student, DataFest Africa 2025 – Nairobi is your platform to connect, learn, and co-create the future of data in Africa.

“Jogoo Wa Shamba Wawika Mjini” hit different. It nailed the shags-meets-city vibe installations that make you think about where you’re from vs where you are. Layers, textures, and real cultural depth. Worth the visit if you appreciate art that speaks to the Kenyan experience. Highly recommend! 🎨
