Drunken Lectures’ Mashilingi na Manoti Festival

A festival curated to understand the Kenyan shilling. Every-bit of what makes the KE shilling as we know it. Importantly, how to merge macro economics with the coins in your pocket. MnM, as we call it, will be a journey through the Kenyan currency. Explored in the drunken lecture format of HNW. History, Now, What.

The festival will be divide into three parts, all accessible on admission.

• Mashilingi stage ~ here we will unpack the history of the Kenyan currency and every economic turbulences that have affected it from time in memorial to date. This class will seek to draw patterns and give context of the current financial environment we exist in.
• Manoti Stage ~ this stage will tackle the economic expenditure of your country. We will look at how the country makes, collects and spends every coin. As we seek to understand why finance policies exist as they do or made as they are.

We will have a brief panel to merge all these worlds together with personal finance. What does this mean for you and how can you take advantage of or participate in this macro economics tango! Fun, art, culture, community and everything that curates an experience of immersion into an experience will be here. The lectures will run co-currently and one will have to choose their poison. For the intellectually greedy, you can move and jump around as much as you can!
